Great resource for product recalls; bookmark suggestion:

Are there other sites we should bookmark?
Another community call out request: Which books were/are most helpful to you as a new mom. I'd love to hear your reviews and recommendations on which ones are your favorite. Books can be all inclusive "the first year" or specific to certain topics--sleep training, potty training, feedings, etc.
If you are looking for resources or support on a particular topic, mention it in your comment so others can contribute and hopefully help!

Dr Sears The Baby Book was the single most helpful book while Tyler was an infant and we still refer to it now.
ReplyDeleteThere is also a Baby Best Buys book, a la Consumer Reports for buying baby gear, that is invaluable.
I have just about every sleep book every published, which only served to stress me out. Babies are babies and they just don't always sleep when we'd like them to...and someday they'll sleep just fine so skip these and save yourself the anxiety on top of sleep deprivation.
I'm a big believer of The Baby Whisperer. It really helped me develop a little routine with Caroline that has worked out pretty well.
ReplyDeleteAs for links: www.babysteals.com and www.mamabargains.com for a little retail therapy. ;-)
Thanks Barbara and Jen...Excellent recomemndations and advice!
ReplyDeleteHi Gabs,
ReplyDeleteI really like the Baby Wise book, it was really helpful for me with Molly, but the concepts didn't works so well with Colin, as he was a total different baby.
Reposting from a friend who posted this to my facebook page...figured some others might find her recs of interest:
ReplyDeleteAmber Olson-Pape: I haven't figured out how to blog yet...I'm stuck in the 80's still. We followed The Contented Little Baby Book, which is about putting your baby on a schedule. It worked for us and the girls were sleeping through the nights quickly. I recomend this book to all my soon-to-be moms. Congratulations!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThere's a comedian whose wife is in La Leche League and it sounds like a good organization. Their site has a lot of information: http://www.llli.org/
